1. Harry Styles
Harry was always going to be number one on this list, as throughout the years he has been a beacon of light shining against the fashion gender roles. Recently, he had his iconic moment as being the first man to be pictured on the cover of Vogue, and doing so wearing a dress. He looked incredible, and has been known to wear dresses, skirts, colors, and accessories such as jewelry, basically letting his glorious self shine through. Harry; we love you.
2. Billy Porter
Next on the list is the equally iconic Billy Porter, who has graced the red carpet at several fashion events wearing women's dresses. Not only does he wear women's dresses, but he also wears absolutely beautifully designed threads and kills the look every time. He has no respect or regard for traditional gender fashion roles, and we love to see the new look he comes out with. Absolutely smashing it.
3. Janelle Monae
Another member of musical royalty is Janelle Monae, a non-binary singer-songwriter who already defies gender norms by identifying as neither male nor female. They wore a suit to the 2018 Grammys which completely summed their lack of adherence to traditional roles up, showing that they are an absolute boss and will rock whichever look they choose whenever they want, regardless of who it is 'supposed' to be for.
4. Elliot Page
Elliot Page recently came out as trans to a wonderful and supportive reception from all of his fans and television associates. Being trans shows a true expression of self-identity, and the way that Elliot has dressed throughout his career shows that he was never one to fit into a box. Now that he's able to be his true authentic self, we're sure we'll see more fashion choices that follow this move.
5. Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart has never fit the mold into a traditional 'femme' category. Despite identifying as a woman, she continuously dresses in suits or in other looks that are more typically associated with a male fashion decision. We love this bold move from Kristen, and the fact that she never seems to care what anyone around her says or thinks, she just follows herself. That's the best way to be.
6. Alok Vmenon
Alok is a non-binary activist, constantly fighting on behalf of non-binary people and anyone who doesn't want to be confined to classic gender roles. A huge part of their campaign also goes towards normalizing the appearance of body hair, both on feminine and non-binary bodies. Their message gives a lot of people hope, and their fashion sense is amazing. Always wearing beautiful colorful clothes with amazing jewelry and makeup to match, we'd love to swap wardrobes with Alok any day.
