A Dress Clasp To Secure Bras
Here's a handy little detail that makes so much sense. A woman posted this photo of her dress and a clasp that was added to secure bra straps and keep them in place for that night out. This is a feature that many high-end designers will add to their dresses, and honestly, it's probably a lifesaver. We're actually a little surprised that more fashion companies don't do things like this.
It also wouldn't take too much sewing know-how to add your own if you have a dress that doesn't already have clasps. Although, we imagine you'd have to be very careful when dealing with thin straps.
Someone Found Out Their Raincoat Changes Patterns When Wet
This is absolutely genius. We're not sure how this rain jacket actually does it, but it reveals a floral pattern whenever it gets wet. If that's not the coolest feature for a jacket then we don't know what is. This person had no idea that their raincoat did this until after they bought it and took it out in the rain. That's a nice little surprise on what would otherwise be a rainy day.
Little features like this one might even encourage you to go out in the rain more often. We know we'd be a bit more ready to throw on a raincoat if it changed patterns in the rain.
He Discovered A Built-In Lens Cloth
This one is for all of those people out there who wear glasses. You'd never have to worry about scratching them again if you had a shirt like this. We're not sure if this person knew about this feature before he bought the shirt or not, but it ended up having a small lens cloth sewn inside the bottom of it. Considering most people usually go straight for a piece of their shirt when wiping down their glasses, this is pretty cool.
And honestly, you could probably wipe just about anything that'd normally require a soft piece of fabric like this. You wouldn't just have to use it for wiping down your glasses.
This Company Added A System For Extending Their Sleeves
There are a couple of different brands that have similar sleeve systems to this one, but we've never even seen something like them until we saw this photo. Someone noticed that their daughter's raincoat had a little tag on the inside explaining out to extend the sleeves when she inevitably outgrew them. And with fast fashion being such a detriment to the environment, it's good to see designers encouraging people to keep their clothes as long as possible.
This jacket doesn't look particularly new either, meaning this company was probably pretty much always producing long-lasting clothing, even before the consequences of fast fashion started popping up in the headlines.
A Jacket With Turn Signals
Someone spotted this biker riding around and snapped a photo of his jacket. It actually has turn signals and a brake light on the back of it. And yes, they all light up in unison with his bike's signals. Manufacturers that make clothing for bikers are known for their innovative designs, but this is probably one of the more unique riding jackets that we've seen. We're just wondering where the plug goes.
Still, it's pretty cool to see a riding jacket that actively forces drivers to take notice of the person on the bike. Riding can be dangerous, and you want all of the help you can get to stay safe.
This T-Shirt Company Tells You Who Made Your Shirt
While it's important to know where your clothes were made and by who, it's not usually easy to figure all of that out. The company that made this shirt seems to want to solve that problem. They add bios on their tags of the people who actually make their clothes. The bios even include little bits of personal information, such as what they like to spend their time doing.
It would also seem that maybe this company is based in Los Angeles, although we can't be entirely sure, and that could just be where their factory is located.
Washing Instructions
So, most clothing tags will include instructions on how to wash, but these instructions are a bit more unique. It gives wearers two choices: one for best results and another for worst results. The best results option is pretty much your typical washing instructions. And your worst results option is how you might imagine your small child would wash their clothes if they were able. It says to drag behind your car and drag through puddles before during on the roof rack.
Obviously, we hope that most people out there choose to wash these pajamas using the best results method. We can't imagine they'd survive very long being pulled behind a car or truck.
An Animal-Tested Shirt
Usually, when you hear about products being tested on animals, the context isn't very good. However, this shirt proudly says on the label that it was tested on animals. And in typical Top Gear fashion, it follows it up with a witty statement saying that the shirts didn't fit. It's usually not a good thing to have your clothing associated with animal testing, but in this case, it'd probably make us want to buy the shirt even more.
We could just imagine a bunch of animals in a giant lab somewhere just sitting around all day eating and trying on different clothing items, with testers scratching their heads every time something doesn't fit.
A Label That Spells Out Who Can Wash
You wouldn't think that you'd need a clothing label to spell out who is able to wash clothes, but this brand seemed to want to make it clear. It turns out that both genders can wash clothes or at least this specific garment. They give you all of the usual information about how you should wash, and then the last little description says, "Can be washed by both men and women."
This is a pretty witty little label, and we hope that whoever needed to hear or read this message or tag ended up taking it home and finding it.
This Tie's Pattern Is Just A Bunch Of Mice
This would be the perfect gift for someone who works with computers all day. It's a tie that has tiny little mice all over it. The mice are both regular mice and those of the computer variety. If you stand a bit back from it, the mouse pattern just looks like a bunch of polka dots. This specific print would also look really good on a button-down or Hawaiian shirt.
However, we might have to wait a little while for that rendition as we couldn't find any similar patterned shirts online. Whoever designed this tie needs to release a shirt and pronto.
A Gym Shirt That Tells You You've Done Enough
It can be hard to get motivated for the gym, especially if you're just getting into it. However, it'd probably be a bit easier with a shirt like this. The shirt displays text that reads, "You can go home now," when it's covered in sweat. That's pretty awesome if you ask us. Not only does it help motivate but it also tells you when you've had enough and it's time to hit the showers.
We're sure the shirt doesn't just show the text when you're drenched in sweat, though, and it probably changes if it's drenched in water too, but what's the fun in that?
You Get Free Seeds With This T-Shirt
What better way to help counter the carbon footprint of your shirt than offer people a chance to plant seeds with every shirt they buy? This t-shirt company gives its buyers a pouch full of wildflower seedlings with every shirt they buy. It even comes with easy-to-follow instructions on how to grow your new seedlings, which is a pretty cool idea. However, we just hope that they're changing up the types of plants they're distributing according to region.
The last thing you'd want to do is distribute an invasive species if your shirt and seedlings are sold somewhere like Australia, which already has a pretty bad invasive species problem.
Shoes With An Ice Cleat
If you're not from somewhere that gets a lot of snow and ice, then you might have a bit of trouble identifying the metal piece on the bottom of these shoes. Yes, it can be used as a bottle opener, but it's actually a flip-down ice cleat to help you get traction when walking on ice. Just engage the ice cleats if it's slippery outside and then you're good to go.
It's a simple but useful little addition that the designer thought to add, and honestly, it makes so much sense. After all, if you buy boots, then odds are you plan on using them in the outdoors.
The Tag On These Maternity Shorts Offer Some Motivational Words
Everyone could use a little boost every now and then, and none more so than new mothers. It's an extremely difficult job, which is why we imagine this clothing brand added a little motivational tag to their maternity shorts. It reads, "You've got this, mama." The tag is short and sweet, and we're sure most people who've bought these shorts have looked down at the tag at some point and smiled.
The little details on some of these clothing tags are pretty clever, but this one might just be one of our favorites just because of the feel goods it gives us.
L. L. Bean Encourages Hand-Me-Downs
There's nothing wrong with hand-me-downs, and in fact, we think that more people should wear used clothing. Not only does is help cut down on waste, but it also helps save money. That's why we're glad to see this tag on an L.L. Bean jacket. It has a little name tag on the inside that lets kids write their names. Considering L.L. Bean is big on quality and the environment, this seems like a perfect fit.
It'd also just make sense to do this on every piece of child's clothing since kids are always outgrowing their clothes, and parents are always having to dish out money for new clothes.
A Jacket With Survival Tips
Whoever this clothing designer is, they really nailed this little extra feature. Someone posted this photo after noticing that the inside of their jacket had survival tips written on it in case you ever find yourself stranded out in the wild. However, some of these tips are pretty hardcore, such as boiling and drinking the blood of an animal you catch. But if you're stranded out in the wild, you've got to do what you've got to do.
We also enjoy how they felt the need to add a tip advising people not to drink urine. The only one that seems a bit sketchy is the tip involving plant roots and seeds.
Pockets With A Grip
If you've ever been walking down the road and someone stopped you and let you know that something fell out of your back pocket, then these jeans are for you. They come with back pockets that have a non-slip grip on the inside to keep things like cash and cards from falling out. We're not sure what brand these are but it's a nice little feature, especially if you're having a night out.
The non-slip grips kind of look like strips of dried glue and you might even be able to make your own by using a glue gun, but we're not sure how that would hold up in the wash.
No Better Advice Than What's Found On This Zipper
Some of the clothing details on this list are helpful, while others are just witty. This one is both. Someone noticed that the lining next to the zipper on their pants came with a little message that read, "Be careful. You've only got one." It's pretty solid advice, especially if you're the type of person who's always in a rush and could use a little reminder that not everything in life is a race.
It also reminds us of a scene from the movie There's Something About Mary. Those who've seen it will know what we're talking about; those kinds of things just stick with you.
Someone Found These Tools On Their Belt Buckle
This one seems really obvious after seeing this photo for the first time. Why haven't more clothing manufacturers made belts with different tools on them? You usually always have a belt on hand, and tools always seem to go missing or end up misplaced. It just makes sense. You could even have different-sized buckles with more or fewer tools depending on what someone wanted, sort of like a regular multitool.
We suppose you'd have to take the belt off your pants in order to use the tools, but as long as you're not wearing super baggy pants, then you should be good.
This Tie Was Hiding A Tiny Giraffe
Someone posted this photo after buying a tie and then realizing that the tie they bought actually has a tiny little giraffe wearing another tie on the inside. It's not necessarily useful like a belt buckle multitool, but it is a nice detail that might help you get motivated to put the tie on. And if we're being honest, most guys out there could use a reason to put on a tie.
They're not exactly the most comfortable item of clothing to wear. So any extra reason to wear a tie is something positive in our books, even if it is just a cute image of a giraffe.
Air-Conditioned Construction Jackets
If you've ever worked a construction job or any job that has you doing manual labor outdoors, then you can probably relate to the construction worker in this photo. His jacket has a built-in air conditioner to help keep him cool in the summer heat. Someone snapped this photo of one they saw in Japan, but these were all over the news during the country's latest heatwave, which saw multiple days of three-figure temperatures.
Unfortunately, it seems like we might see much more items of clothing coming with their own built-in air conditioners in the near future, but let's hope this is one fashion trend that fades out of existence.
A Sweater That Lets You Light The Menorah
We're pretty sure that most people have seen a sweater or shirt with those small glittering patches that let you create different patterns. This one is on a sweater, and when you run your hands through it, the lights on the menorah light and extinguish. It's a pretty clever little design, and we could see a lot of people slightly more festive than us wearing this during the holidays.
We're not sure what brand this is, but we're pretty confident that a quick search online would get you this sweater, or something similar to it, considering how great an idea it is.
This Jacket Comes With A Whistle
This is one that would be useful in all kinds of situations. Someone bought a jacket with a whistle attached to the zipper and posted a photo of it online to show off. A lot of outdoor clothing brands do something similar just in case you're ever stranded and need to alert rescue teams to your location. Brands like Jansport also sometimes include them for women on college campuses.
And even if you don't fit into either of those categories, a whistle would is pretty much always a cool thing to have attached to your jacket. You never know when you might need one.
A Shirt With A Script
Whoever took this photo must've been a really big fan of Pulp Fiction because we'd probably struggle to see, much less identify, the text on this shirt. It turns out, though, that it's the entire script for the movie. So, if you're sitting in class and get bored, you could just start reading your shirt and go through the entire script of your favorite film. Or, the person behind you could.
Either way, it's a great time. There are also some brands that sell shirts like these with text from different novels and books if that's more your type of thing.
Jeans With Knee Pads
So, this one needs a little context. This guy didn't actually buy these jeans like this from a store. Instead, he had his wife sew some pockets onto the front of the knees. He's a stone setter and, as such, spends a lot of time on his knees, and the knee pads come in handy. It's honestly pretty genius, and if we had a job like that, we'd be doing the same.
There are some workwear brands that sell jeans with pockets already sewn in, but why spend the extra money if you already have a pair of jeans and can sew pockets yourself?
Someone Discovered Gabriela
We've already seen one tag with a bio on it, but we thought we'd include this one, too, since it's just a great feature to have, and we couldn't leave out Diego's coworker. This one has the bio of a sewer named Gabriela, and apparently, Gabriela is an expert at her craft. She has 38 years of sewing experience, which is honestly pretty amazing. She also likes to go salsa dancing.
Again, this tag makes us think that this is from an L.A.-based company, but we're not entirely sure. Still, wherever they're located, this is a great addition we wish more clothing manufacturers would adopt.
Boots That Tell You How Deep The Water Is
This parent didn't notice this feature until later, but she bought her son some boots and noticed that they actually have a ruler on the back to tell you how deep the water is. The only downside we can see here is that this might encourage a kid to jump into just about any puddle they see, but maybe they'd do that anyway. At least with these, they can learn their measurements at the same time.
We're not sure what the kid is supposed to do when the water reaches higher than these boots can measure, but hopefully, they're not jumping into any puddles that deep.
Workwear With Little Tools
We're not completely sure how we feel about this one. On the one hand, it's kind of cool that this workwear designer thought to turn the zippers on this jacket into little tools. It's just a nice added detail. On the other hand, they're not really functional and look more like toys than actual tools. Either way, we suppose they're more fun to look at than normal zippers you'd see on most other jackets.
Not everything always has to have a purpose, and you'd be alright if you just combined this jacket with the multitool belt from an earlier photo. Then your clothes would look stylish while also having some utility.
A Fox Pocket With More Foxes
What's more adorable than a sweater with a giant fox on it? If that fox also has a pocket and that pocket contains an army of smaller foxes. Someone grabbed this sweater and later realized that the inside of the pocket was stitched so that it resembles hundreds of small foxes. It's a nice little detail that leaves us wondering how the person who sewed this actually pulled it off.
It looks like it might just be plain stitching, but we're no experts when it comes to sewing so we're not exactly sure. Still, we wish more designers added small details like this.
Camouflage Made Out Of Sharks
This one might be a bit hard for some of you to see (sorry, that's the only camouflage joke; we promise), but someone bought this jacket and then realized that it had a pretty unique pattern. The camouflage is actually just a bunch of shark patterns overlayed with one another. It honestly looks just like a regular camouflaged jacket, and it took us a second to spot the difference in this one.
If you can turn a pattern of a bunch of sharks into camouflage, then you could probably turn just about anything into a camouflage pattern as long as it's the right colors.
This Motorcycle Jacket Lets You Write Down Your Blood Type
This one is a little dark, but it would honestly be really useful and potentially lifesaving in the event of an accident. This guy's motorcycle jacket has a tag that allows him to write down his blood type if anything were ever to happen. Sure, if he was taken to a hospital, they would probably test him anyway, but in an event where time was of the essence, we could see this coming in handy.
We're actually kind of surprised that more clothing companies that make motorcycle wear don't use similar tags. And even if it's never used, it can serve as a reminder to ride carefully.
A Houndstooth Pattern Made Out Of Cats
It's easy to see up close, but if you were a bit further out, then this pair of pants would look like any other houndstooth pattern. However, this one is obviously made using a ton of cats. Whoever designed this probably had an affinity for cats, and judging from the comments on this photo after it was posted, a lot of other people do as well. The comments blew up with people trying to find this same exact pair.
Apparently, the company that made these also makes jackets with the same pattern, which just sounds really awesome. We'd probably rather have the jacket but the pants are cool, too.
Shoes With A "Ledge"
We're sure there's an actual term for this, but we're not cobblers, so we're just going to call it a "ledge." Anyway, this guy's shoes have one, and they're there to keep the cuffs of his pants from touching the ground. It's a tiny detail, but one that we're sure comes in handy, especially for when it's raining. If you've ever walked in jeans in the rain, then you know what we're talking about.
However, they also have another use. They can help in getting the shoe off when you're trying to pry it off with your other foot. Talk about a useful feature.
A Boyfriend Discovered This On His Girlfriend's Bra
We're not sure what designer or company this bra is from, but they were made with cushions shaped like hands. Someone's boyfriend posted this photo and thought it was a fun little feature to have. However, we imagine it probably doesn't really provide much more cushion than the regular pads would. So, this one is mainly just for laughs, although some suggested this shape would be slightly more comfortable.
Either way, it's a nice detail and one that's outside the box. We can't imagine that there are too many ways to improve or add upon designs for bras.
Shoes With A Map Of Barcelona
This sneaker brand from Spain really went all out with the soles of their shoes. This one has a map of the city of Barcelona on the bottom of it. You wouldn't be able to use it to guide you through the city (at least not effectively), but it has things like buildings' general shapes. It's a nice little detail to have, especially if you're a company based in Spain.
We have to imagine the tread on this shoe works pretty well, too, considering how much of it there actually is. They'd also make for a nice souvenir if you were on vacation in Barcelona.
Tread Shaped Like A Remote
Here's another pretty unique sole from a shoe company. This one is shaped exactly like a remote. It even has the usual buttons, like "DVD," "Guide," and "TV." As far as treads go, this might be one of the most unique we've ever seen. However, you're going to leave behind a trail of confusing footprints if you ever take these out into the snow or walk through the dirt.
The treads on this shoe also seem pretty proper, and they're almost as thick or pointy as small cleats in some places. We'd like to know how the shoe designer came up with this idea.
Someone's Coworker Noticed Their Jacket Had Headphones
This is a pretty cool hoodie. Someone posted this photo after seeing his coworker's jacket and noticing that the drawstrings were actually headphones. And apparently, it's entirely okay to wash them somehow. They didn't mention how good the sound quality was, but if they're already waterproof, then you'd have to imagine that they're pretty high-quality headphones. The only thing is you probably couldn't run them through the dryer, or they'd get damaged.
You probably wouldn't be using these headphones all of the time, but it's a cool addition to have if you forget your normal headphones at home or if you're at work.
A Sole With Math Equations
This one is for anyone out there with an affinity for math. These shoes actually have a bunch of different equations written on the bottom of them. However, it comes with an asterisk as not all of these equations are actually correct. That's right, you probably wouldn't be able to use these to pass your math exam, but you could still have a nice pair of shoes that show off your love of math.
Still, we kind of wish that the designer had added factual equations to the soles of these shoes instead of fakes. That would've been so much cooler, in our opinion.
Pepperoni Pants With A Hidden Face
If you're wearing pants with prints of a pepperoni pizza all over them, then you should probably expect to find some weird details hidden away somewhere on your clothing. This dad pulled out the pocket of his pants and found a random face. Maybe it's the clothing designer? Maybe it's just a guy who likes pizza? We're not sure, but he obviously had some kind of hand in the production of these pants.
The face itself also has a weird expression. The guy doesn't look like he's having fun at all in the image. He actually looks like he's kind of fed up.
Someone Discovered This Tiny Saw On Their Zipper
Someone posted this photo after suddenly noticing that one of the zippers on his work pants had a tiny plastic saw on it. We probably wouldn't have noticed this right away either, as the saw just kind of blends in with the pants. But it's a cool little detail, even if you wouldn't actually be able to use this for anything. We supposed you could use it to pull the zipper.
Little details on clothing really go a long way in showing that the company who made them cares about their products. Or, at least someone at the company cares enough to add tiny details most won't even notice.
